“Gender in the Portuguese Media” will be the theme of a session organized by a partnership between ICNOVA and the Portuguese Press Association (API) on 6 June between 11:00 and 12:00 at the Estoril Conference Center, Estoril, Portugal. This session is one of three important events that will make Cascais/Estoril the media center of the country in the month of June and that will run concurrently between 6-8 June: the 70th World News Media Congress, the World Editors Forum and the Women in News Summit.
This meeting will focus on the panorama of the Portuguese media and journalism, with particular regard to the issue of gender. Speakers include: Cláudia Álvares (professor at Lusófona University and researcher at CICANT), Filipa Subtil (lecturer at the Superior College of Communications, ESCS, and researcher at ICS) and Sofia Branco (President of the Journalists’ Union and a journalist at the Portuguese News Agency, LUSA). The session will be moderated by ICNOVA researcher and NOVA FCSH lecturer Marisa Torres da Silva.
