Integrated in the iNOVA Media Lab of ICNOVA, the Observatory for Innovation in Media and Creative Industries explores how digital ecosystem affects processes, routines and products in the media and other creative industries (specifically the ones that have undergone profound changes due to digital) and how innovation strategies are being carried by them and with what impact. It will focus on the innovation related to the product, process, interaction with the public, use of digital tools and business models. There are four initial initiatives related to this Observatory:
a) to map and analyze the curricular offer at the university level regarding entrepreneurship and innovation;
b) to map and identify entrepreneurial and independent media projects, its constrains and challenges;
c) compare Portuguese results with the outputs of European and American research partners (such as the Innovation Imperative, promoted by the Reuters Institute);
d) to launch a microsite with an editorial coverage of innovative projects and other issues related to this, dedicated to both researchers and institutions.
