Researchers involved in the Para uma História do Jornalismo em Portugal project organized a discussion panel at the XXVII IAMHIST conference

ICNOVA researcher Carla Baptista presented a paper at the XXVII conference of the International Association for Media and History (IAMHIST), at Northumbria University, Newcastle, England.
IAMHIST is a community of media researchers, with a particular focus on film, audiovisuals, and media archive work, which edits the Historical Journal of Film, Radio and Television. Carla Baptista’s presentation was part of a panel, including two other researchers, Ana Cabrera (IHC) and Clara Sanz (University of Burgos), as part of the research project Para uma História do Jornalismo em Portugal, funded by FCT (PTDC / COM-JOR / 28144/2017).
The panel was entitled “New Powers, Old Media: How the Portuguese and Spanish Press Covered by Marcelo Caetano’s official visit to Spain in 1970” and it analyzed the relationships between the Portuguese and Spanish press towards the end of the Estado Novo and Francoism.
