The research project Photo Impulse brings to NOVA FCSH, Colégio Almada Negreiros, two specialists in stereoscopic photography in order to understand the characteristics of this typology and its uses by geographical expeditions whose photographic practice is the subject matter of the project.
Denis Pellerin, curator of Brian May’s stereoview collection, will present highlights of this extensive collection of over 150,000 stereoscopic items, on the morning of February 21. Although made up of many stereoviews from the Victorian era, the collection of the famous Queen guitarist, has a little bit of everything. This diversity can be seen in 3D during the conference.
Nuno Borges de Araújo gives us the possibility to view 19th century Angola in 3D. In his conference he presents the work of the photographers Cunha Moraes and Silveira, two professional photographers who produced and edited stereoscopic cards of the Angolan territory.
