RCL – Revista de Comunicação e Linguagens is a biannual publication in the area of Communication Sciences, created by the former CECL – Centro de Estudos de Comunicação e Linguagens at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (NOVA FCSH), existing without interruption since 1985. Its main objectives are: to contribute for the enrichment of interdisciplinary scientific research in the field of communication and culture; promote the meeting of national and international research within the best standards of scientific quality; provide diverse and up-to-date information and guidelines for those connected with communication science education and research.

The journal is indexed in the LATINDEX and ProQuest / CSA (Cambridge Scientific Abstracts) data bases.
