O core\u00f3grafo Jonathan Burrows e a te\u00f3rica Bojana Cveji\u0107 prop\u00f5em uma oficina de dois dias, para partilhar a sua investiga\u00e7\u00e3o sobre a coreografia enquanto manifesta\u00e7\u00e3o de descobertas neurocient\u00edficas e cognitivas que ligam movimento sequencial e percep\u00e7\u00e3o. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

O trabalho desafia a tradi\u00e7\u00e3o de pensar a coreografia enquanto capacidade e pr\u00e1tica para estruturar o movimento, o tempo e o comportamento. Em lugar disso, a pesquisa investiga a coreografia como parte integrante dos processos cognitivos fundamentais de mapeamento, de recorda\u00e7\u00e3o e de antecipa\u00e7\u00e3o do movimento no ambiente corpo\/c\u00e9rebro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jonathan Burrows<\/strong>, core\u00f3grafo, tem como principal foco de trabalho, uma colabora\u00e7\u00e3o de longo termo com o compositor Matteo Fargion. \u00c9 autor de A Choreographer’s Handbook<\/em> (Routledge 2010\/24) e Writing Dance<\/em> (Varamo 2022). \u00c9, actualmente, Professor Associado no Centre for Dance Research<\/em>, Coventry University. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bojana Cveji\u0107<\/strong>, dramaturga, tem trabalhado em estreita colabora\u00e7\u00e3o com v\u00e1rios artistas de renome na \u00e1rea da dan\u00e7a, incluindo Mette Ingvartsen, Xavier le Roy e Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker (com quem co-escreveu A Choreographer’s Score<\/em>, 2019). \u00c9 autora de Choreographing Problems<\/em> (Springer, 2016) e Towards a Trans-Individual Self <\/em>(em coautoria com Ana Vuyanovi\u0107, 2022). Bojana \u00e9 professora de na KHIO Oslo National Academy of Arts, membro do corpo docente na P.A.R.T.S, Bruxelas, e professora convidada no Centre for Dance Research, Coventry University.

The workshop is for anybody interested in dance and performance at a professional level.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abstract: Choreographer Jonathan Burrows and theorist Bojana Cveji\u0107 lead a two-day workshop sharing ongoing research into choreography as a manifestation of neuroscientific and cognitive discoveries linking sequenced movement and perception. The work challenges the tradition of thinking choreography as the capacity and practice of structuring movement, time and behavior. Instead, this research investigates choreography as an integral part of fundamental cognitive processes of mapping, remembering and anticipating movement in the body\/brain environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jonathan Burrows<\/strong> is a choreographer whose main focus is a long collaboration with the composer Matteo Fargion. He is the author of A Choreographer’s Handbook<\/em> (Routledge 2010\/24) and Writing Dance<\/em> (Varamo 2022) and is currently an Associate Professor at the Centre for Dance Research, Coventry University.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bojana Cveji\u0107<\/strong> is a dramaturge who has worked closely with a number of leading dance artists, including Mette Ingvartsen, Xavier le Roy and Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker (with whom she co-wrote A Choreographer’s Score<\/em>, 2019). She is the author of Choreographing Problems <\/em>(Springer, 2016) and Towards a Trans-Individual Self <\/em>(co-written with Ana Vuyanovi\u0107, 2022). Bojana is a Professor of Dance and Dance Theory at KHIO Oslo National Academy of Arts, a faculty member for theory at P.A.R.T.S Brussels and a Guest Professor at the Centre for Dance Research, Coventry University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
