Este projeto visa criar uma plataforma internacional de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o e curadoria dedicada ao estudo das rela\u00e7\u00f5es (in)comuns ou \u201csubcomuns\u201d que moldam a performance art\u00edstica contempor\u00e2nea em contextos transnacionais e p\u00f3s-coloniais (Harney & Moten 2025). Aborda uma lacuna cr\u00edtica no panorama atual da investiga\u00e7\u00e3o: a aus\u00eancia de um campo estruturado e comparativo que examine pr\u00e1ticas perform\u00e1ticas que liguem Portugal, o Brasil e territ\u00f3rios africanos e asi\u00e1ticos marcados por hist\u00f3rias coloniais e por um patrim\u00f3nio cultural e lingu\u00edstico comum, incluindo contextos em que o portugu\u00eas se cruza com outras l\u00ednguas ind\u00edgenas aut\u00f3ctones.<\/p>\n

Esta plataforma \u00e9 simbolicamente concebida como uma \u201cnuvem\u201d que se move para diversas territorialidades num lugar heterot\u00f3pico, no sentido foucaultiano, uma reserva de espa\u00e7o flutuante para a imagina\u00e7\u00e3o. A \u201cnuvem\u201d sinaliza mobilidade, porosidade e infraestrutura digital, enquanto permite um ponto de vista cr\u00edtico sobre passados assombrados (Traverso 2017) e futuros emergentes. O projeto opera, assim, na intersec\u00e7\u00e3o entre arquivo e repert\u00f3rio (Taylor 2003), mem\u00f3ria e futuridade (Schneider 2011), performance e historiografia (Burke 2005). Reconhecendo que tanto a cultura como a l\u00edngua portuguesa inscrevem heran\u00e7as colonialistas, o nosso posicionamento \u00e9 que devemos abra\u00e7ar todas as vertentes da din\u00e2mica e recria\u00e7\u00e3o da l\u00edngua e, mais do que isso, pensar esta geografia como reveladora de um tr\u00e2nsito, uma nuvem de diferentes l\u00ednguas, onde o portugu\u00eas pode mesmo ser uma aus\u00eancia.<\/p>\n

Chamada para Projectos Art\u00edsticos:<\/h3>\n

Como se reflete a performatividade da Hist\u00f3ria (Burke 2005) nos tr\u00e2nsitos art\u00edsticos da cena contempor\u00e2nea entre Portugal, Brasil, \u00c1frica e \u00c1sia? Esta chamada para projetos art\u00edsticos tem por objetivo convocar artistas\/curadores ou investigadores, destes diferentes territ\u00f3rios, a participarem numa plataforma de performance art\u00edstica que se apresenta atrav\u00e9s da imagem metaf\u00f3rica de uma nuvem com formas diferenciadas – uma nuvem-jangada, uma nuvem-ponte, uma nuvem-estrada, uma nuvem-rede, uma nuvem-nuvem, sempre em transforma\u00e7\u00e3o e em rela\u00e7\u00e3o. Esta plataforma-nuvem pretende re-simbolizar as singularidades das trajet\u00f3rias, temas e propostas dos artistas contempor\u00e2neos portugueses, brasileiros, africanos ou asi\u00e1ticos que fazendo uso de linguagens da performance, atrav\u00e9s de abordagens transdisciplinares, da performatividade e do hibridismo, cruzam os limites deste amplo territ\u00f3rio cultural, onde se falaa l\u00edngua portuguesa, ou esta ainda se faz presente nalgumas express\u00f5es lingu\u00edsticas ou culturais, relacionando-se com os contextos internacionais da arte.<\/p>\n

Este lugar (in)comum de partilhas pretende assim dar a conhecer, discutir, aprofundar e expandir os tracejados comuns e\/ou incomuns, onde se articulam imagin\u00e1rios e legados hist\u00f3ricos, procurando retir\u00e1-los, como referem Harney & Moten, dos lugares subcomuns (\u201cundercommom\u201d) a que s\u00e3o muitas vezes remetidos.<\/p>\n

Como?<\/h4>\n

(1) Atrav\u00e9s da apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o de um projeto representativo do trabalho art\u00edstico ou de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o, que contemple uma ou v\u00e1rias das seguintes quest\u00f5es:<\/p>\n

Que novas performatividades h\u00edbridas e transculturais emergem de uma expans\u00e3o da arte da performance, no contexto dos imagin\u00e1rios partilhados entre Portugal, Brasil, \u00c1frica e \u00c1sia? Num cen\u00e1rio em que estas geografias se cruzam, misturam e se dissolvem em m\u00faltiplos lugares pelo mundo, que novos mapeamentos se produzem? Que opacidades lhes s\u00e3o inerentes? Quais s\u00e3o os seus espa\u00e7os e tempos de visibilidade? Quais os seus temas, modos de opera\u00e7\u00e3o e formas de rece\u00e7\u00e3o? Que arquivos mobilizam, criam ou recriam?<\/p>\n

De que forma estas pr\u00e1ticas contribuem para descolonizar ou problematizar a cultura, o conhecimento, os corpos, os gestos, os rituais, as mem\u00f3rias e os objetos? O futuro que nelas se inscreve constitui uma continuidade do passado ou prop\u00f5e novas ressignifica\u00e7\u00f5es? Que performances emergem num tempo pensado como c\u00edclico e espiral? Como se preservam e quais s\u00e3o as ra\u00edzes, enquanto ativam as din\u00e2micas da globaliza\u00e7\u00e3o? Que hubris e nemesis as atravessam?<\/p>\n

(2) O convite \u00e0 apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o de propostas visa a sele\u00e7\u00e3o por um j\u00fari, de um conjunto de projetos para integrar um ciclo internacional de semin\u00e1rios com edi\u00e7\u00e3o online, bem como o seu posterior registo num website da plataforma em constru\u00e7\u00e3o. Desta primeira call resultar\u00e3o ainda um artigo cient\u00edfico e a edi\u00e7\u00e3o de um n\u00famero especial de uma revista indexada em open access.<\/p>\n

This project aims to create an international research and curatorial platform dedicated to the study of the (un)common or \u201csubcommon\u201d relationships that shape contemporary artistic performance in transnational and post-colonial contexts (Harney & Moten 2025). It addresses a critical gap in the current research landscape: the absence of a structured and comparative field that examines
performance practices connecting Portugal, Brazil, and African and Asian territories marked by colonial histories and a shared cultural and linguistic heritage, including contexts where Portuguese
intersects with other autochthonous indigenous languages.
This platform is symbolically conceived as a \u201ccloud\u201d that moves to diverse territorialities in a heterotopic place, in the Foucauldian sense, a reserve of floating space for the imagination. The \u201ccloud\u201d signals mobility, porosity, and digital infrastructure, while simultaneously allowing for a critical point of view on haunted pasts (Traverso 2017) and emerging futures. The project thus
operates at the intersection of archive and repertoire (Taylor 2003), memory and futurity (Schneider 2011), performance and historiography (Burke 2005).
Recognizing that both Portuguese culture and language bear colonial legacies, our position is that we must embrace all aspects of the dynamics and recreation of the language and, more than that, consider this geography as revealing a transit, a cloud of di\ufb00erent languages, where Portuguese may even be absent.<\/p>

Call for Artistic Projects:<\/h3>

How does the performativity of History (Burke 2005) reflect in the artistic transits of the contemporary scene between Portugal, Brazil, Africa, and Asia? This call for artistic projects aims to invite artists\/curators or researchers from these different territories to participate in an artistic performance platform that presents itself through the metaphorical image of a cloud with differentiated forms – a cloud-raft, a cloud-bridge, a cloud-road, a cloud-net, a cloud-cloud, always in transformation and in relation. This cloud-platform intends to re-symbolize the singularities of the trajectories, themes, and proposals of contemporary Portuguese, Brazilian, African, or Asian artists who, using performance languages, through transdisciplinary approaches, performativity, and hybridity, cross the limits of this broad cultural territory, where the Portuguese language is spoken, or where it is still present in some linguistic or cultural expressions, relating to the international contexts of art.<\/p>

This (un)common space for sharing aims to make known, discuss, deepen and expand the common and\/or uncommon outlines where imaginaries and historical legacies are articulated, seeking to remove them, as Harney & Moten refer to them, from the subcommon (\u201cundercommon\u201d) places to which they are often relegated.<\/p>

How?<\/h4>

(1) By presenting a representative project of artistic or research work that addresses one or more of the following questions:<\/p>

What new hybrid and transcultural performativities emerge from an expansion of performance art, in the context of shared imaginaries between Portugal, Brazil, Africa, and Asia? In a scenario where these geographies intersect, mix, and dissolve in multiple places around the world, what new mappings are produced? What opacities are inherent to them? What are their spaces and times of visibility? What are their themes, modes of operation, and forms of reception? What archives do they mobilize, create, or recreate?<\/p>

How do these practices contribute to decolonizing or problematizing culture, knowledge, bodies, gestures, rituals, memories, and objects? Does the future inscribed in them constitute a continuity of the past or do we propose new resignifications? What performances emerge in a time conceived as cyclical and spiral? How are they preserved and what are their roots, while at the same time activating the dynamics of globalization? What hubris and nemesis run through them?<\/p>

(2) The call for proposals aims at the selection by a jury of a set of projects to be included in an international cycle of seminars with online publication, as well as their subsequent registration on a website of the platform under construction. This first call will also result in a scientific article and the publication of a special issue of journal indexed on open access.<\/p>

The seminar series will be based on the topics presented below:<\/p>

(1) The Future of Ritual (reenactment, corporeality, and spiral temporalities);<\/p>

(2) Is Hybridity the New Esperanto? (transcultural performativities);<\/p>

(3) (De)colonial Representations (masks, objects, documents, monuments);<\/p>

(4) Artistic Geographies of Portugal, Brazil, Africa, and Asia (a broad geography for (un)common
objectives);<\/p>

(5) Biennials and festivals, the streets and the WWW (a place for the artistic inscription of
performance art).<\/p>
