OPEN CALL Death-Images: Revisiting Deleuze’s “Time-Image” in Cinema after 1985
Forty years after the publication of Cinema 2: The Time-Image, this special issue of RCL – Journal of Communication and Languages invites reflections on the convergence between the “time-image” and the “death-image” in post-1985 cinema.
This issue welcome essays exploring how this convergence manifests in films and directors working after 1985, revealing forms of “death-images” that Deleuze could not have foreseen. Contributions focusing on non-Western cinema are particularly encouraged.
